A Carman View History:
In the late 1800's, Carman, Minn. was an independent town, with its own government, fire department, train station, post office, and churches. It was named after a local Baptist minister, John Carman. After a few significant fires and businesses centralizing in Crookston,
Carman was annexed as it`s 5th Ward in 1888.
In 2004, house construction began on a portion of the former Carman Townsite land and established Carman View. This area, platted in 1884, is now zoned for single family residential development. Carman Park is a nearby neighborhood recreational area with new playground equipment, sand volleyball, basketball and a picnic shelter.
Today, Carman View offers future residents the benefits of rural living mixed with the amenities of Crookston.
